HomeBuy Direct - Eligibility Criteria
If you are a newbie in the world of property buying or you have plans to rent a property but are unable to afford the current market rent rate then choosing HomeBuy might be the right move.
Home Buying
You may utilize HomeBuy’s services to help you buy a property that you wish to buy but cannot really afford at an open market rate. You may be eligible to apply if you fulfil any/all of the following criteria:
- You are a first time buyer
- You are a Social Tenant
- You are an experienced buyer but currently not in a position to buy independently due to certain issues e.g. family break-up etc.
- You are a key Worker
- Your maximum income per year is £60,000 (alone or joint)
- You have instant access to money in order to cover the initial costs of buying (usually around £3,500-£4,000)
- You are a key worker by profession i.e. your job role is listed in the list of eligible Job Roles
Eligible Job Roles:
1) Education - Qualified teachers, Lecturers, Children's social workers and Qualified Nursery Nurses
2) Police - Police officers and Community Support Officers
3) Prison Service - Prison officers, Nursing Staff, Industrials and Instructional Officers.
Probation Service - Probation officers, Senior probation officers, Probation service officers and other Operational staff
4) Local Authority - Local authority Employed clinical staff, Adult social workers, Occupational therapists, Educational psychologists, Speech and language therapists, Rehabilitation officers for the visually impaired and qualified nursery nurses.
5) Fire Fighters - Uniformed fire and rescue staff
6) MoD Regular service personnel, including Military Provost Guard Service in the Navy, Army and Air Force Clinical staff (with the exception of doctors and dentists), MoD Police Officers, Uniformed staff in the Defence Fire Service
7) Environmental health Professionals & Practitioners
8) Highways Agency Traffic Officer Service - Supervisor (On road and Off road), Traffic Officer
